The company was formed in December 2003 by Robert Pickard who has spent 25 years in the Builders Merchant business based in Sheffield.

Hardcores' main aim is to provide a special service to small and medium size contractors, and also active DIY enthusiasts who want to deal with people who understand their requirements, and to be flexible with their service.

The owner's extensive experience gives him the knowledge of exactly what customers want from a merchant and how to form long-lasting, good business trading relationships. All Hardcores' staff are well trained to customers' needs and most have worked in the industry for over 10 years. The company carries massive stocks of general building materials and a huge selection of landscaping materials, sourced from both UK and overseas countries. In the past 5 years Hardcores has been importing natural stone products from its partner company in India, which has become a large part of its landscaping sales. Deliveries are made on a fleet of vehicles that include crane trucks from 2 tons to 20 tons and Moffet off loaders for the special access deliveries. A comprehensive website has been developed to view all Hardcores' products. The future for Hardcores is bright in an extremely competitive market. The company has grown year on year and has become a formidable force in South Yorkshire. Near the end of 2013 saw Hardcores move to a new location not far from where we originated, Hardcores Rawson Spring Road Sheffield S6 1PD
